With the Falls Music and Arts Festival and the Village I led a team to create a unique parade event featuring costumes and giant puppets made by festival participants.
This project involved mustering the creative energy and skills of a range of festival-goers to develop the concept, create the props and stage the parade. The parade included Chezel the Love Dragon, a gigantic pink Chinese-dragon style walking-puppet operated by 22 people. Chezel was accompanied by an entourage of friendly knights decked out in cardboard armour and oversized cardboard weaponry.
The Falls Music and Arts Festival is an annual event held simultaneously at three sites in three different states of Australia. The Marion Bay site event typically attracts 15,000 people each year.
