For the Village in the 2007 Falls Music and Arts Festival at Marion Bay, I led the team to create giant creature installations around the Festival site.
This project involved activating a team of skilled creative makers to design and create large, imaginative installations which would have an impact in a high traffic festival over several days. Across the site (approximately one acre) we created and installed both stand-alone single items such as the Giant Squid, which formed a stage backdrop and the Giant Snake which floated above a walkway. We also created installations of smaller items which were repeated right across the sight. Most popular of these were the aliens, who hid in trees, stood on roofs and climbed up poles.
The Falls Music and Arts Festival is an annual event held simultaneously at three sites in three different states of Australia. The Marion Bay site event typically attracts 15,000 people each year.
